Our third wedding anniversary may be approaching, but I still find myself peering into bridal boutique windows more than I’d care to admit. I’m still very much “into” the whole wedding scene. I never unfollowed the glossy wedding accounts on Insta, I regularly wonder if I could get away with going to wedding cake tasting appointments if I left my rings at home and I watch an embarrassing amount of Say Yes To The Dress UK on TLC.
In fact, I’d say that binge watching SYTTDUK was a big part of how I stayed sane during the first trimester when I was mostly eating biscuits and watching telly in bed. “I’ll just watch one 30 minute episode” I’d promise myself, before finding myself heavily invested in a fishtail vs ball gown debate three hours later. The daddy-daughter relationships never fail to make me sob and, despite loving my own wedding dress, I can’t help but sometimes feel shortchanged that David Emanuel wasn’t there as my personal wingman when I went dress shopping many moons ago.
Which leads me nicely on to what might be the best competition prize I’ve ever been able to offer here on the blog: a one hour wedding dress consultation with David Emanuel himself (yes, really, the legend behind Princess Diana’s wedding dress!) at Confetti & Lace for one lovely bride-to-be. CAN YOU IMAGINE?!
David will offer his expert advice and help guide you in finding your dream dress, a bit like appearing on the show I suppose just without the demands of actually doing it on camera! There’ll be no pressure to buy anything there and then of course, but you’ll no doubt walk away with a newfound clarity for what you should be looking for AND the ability to gloat forever more that David Emanuel helped choose your wedding dress. Who knows, maybe you’ll say yes to a dress in store that day! I’m legitimately annoyed that I’m already married and can’t nab this opportunity myself.
Here’s what you need to know…
- The one hour personal consultation will be at Confetti & Lace Bridal Boutique (529 Brompton Walk, Lakeside Shopping Centre, West Thurrock, Essex, RM20 2ZL) and yes, this is the very boutique where Say Yes To The Dress UK is filmed!
- You won’t be filmed for an episode, so don’t worry that you’ll suddenly be thrust on to telly by winning this prize. (If you DO want to appear on the show, you can apply here).
- The consultation is scheduled for 1pm on the 21st of June 2017, so please ensure this time/date works for you before entering.
To enter all you need to do is send an email to email@example.com with the email subject “Say Yes To The Dress Competition” and just tell me a little bit about you and why you’d love to win. This competition will close at midday on Wednesday the 14th of June 2017 so you will need to email before that to be entered into the draw. A winner will be chosen at random and notified by the same email address they used to enter by 5pm on the 14th of June. HOW EXCITING!
A big thank you to TLC for offering such a fab prize in the first place and don’t forget, if you are planning a wedding I’ve written tonnes of no-nonsense wedding posts which may be of help here.
Oh and if you’re not already addicted to show, you can catch Say Yes To The Dress UK on Fridays at 9pm on TLC. Bring tissues!
I really really can’t wait to see your entries and hopefully play a teeny tiny part in helping one lucky bride find her dream dress.
GOOD LUCK! 😀
Please note: This prize is kindly offered by TLC UK but it is promoted by my good self here on PoppyD.com. I was not paid to promote this competition or the show – I RUDDY LOVE THE SHOW. Only one entry is permitted per person. Travel costs are not covered. You must be available for the consultation to take place at 1pm on June 21st. There is no alternative prize. If the winner does not respond to notification of winning within 72 hours, the prize will be offered to a runner-up drawn at random. The competition will close at midday on Wednesday the 14th of June 2017.
***UPDATE*** This comp has now closed and I’m very pleased to say that Isobel Murray was the winner! Thank you for all your entries. x
